QUESTION:

What inspires you?

ANSWER:

Julie Says:

Everything. No, really. Everything but direct sunlight. And when I come across willful intentional ignorance. Those two things kill all inspiration upon contact. *laughing* so really my answer is for the question: What does not inspire you?

Here's a visual for you. I 'see' the things I want to create inside my head. And these things are each like a grain of sand in an hourglass. A few grains fall at a time - these are the things I bring into the outside world. As the grains fall "out", more keep coming. And I can't see the top of the hourglass.

Jen Says:

When I was in 5th grade, my art teacher brought in a potter to give a demonstration; it was a magical experience. From that point forward, the creation of art has been part of my life. I had classes throughout high school, one in college...they taught me techniques, which are valuable, but never helped me get what was in my head out into the real world. Bringing my visions out is an evolving process; all the classes in the world can't make someone be an "artist".
