Pyrex Reclaimed

Julie was given the gift of a bowl full of broken Pyrex to "see what could be done" with the pieces. There were a few things to be created.

Several pieces of the plain turquoise color were salvaged and transformed.

One of the white with turquoise pattern pieces. I know it isn't a hot air balloon...but this piece looks like one to me.

"Beam me up Scotty!" Maybe it's a biiig reach, but this piece reminds me of a coms piece from a particular space show...

One of my favorite pieces. Floral print of blues on white. Literally, the only piece in existence. (ok, true for all of these pieces).

Totally stoked for this broken piece! Like it was planned...to have the whole butterfly and the flower!

Simple. Golden yellow. Quintessential of the era.

The only one of this pattern.

There are a number of the all white because their simplicity is just as beautiful and their uniqueness just as unique. There will never be another piece of white Pyrex jewelry exactly like this one. Ever.

Browns. So earthy and really, really cool.

Breaking up the big pieces into smaller, jewelry sizes. Since these arrived already broken, the first step was to examine them for cracks and encourage the cracks to finish breaking apart.

So much potential!

Sorting out the pieces with no pattern bits. We made some of them into finished jewelry because they are just as beautiful, though they won't evoke that nostalgia triggered from pattern recognition.

Sharp edges removed, ready to be matched to a bail and finished as necklaces!
