FAQs

Is there an age limit?
Safety is of paramount concern.  We welcome children 7 years and older with an additional form signed by parent or guardian.  If our safety rules are not followed, the child may be asked to leave without refund.

How long does it take to fire?
A firing takes pretty much 24 hours.  There are many different types of firing schedules that may run shorter or far longer.  Some projects take multiple firings. We may not fire every day depending on kiln capacity. Therefore, there is no set specific answer.

How long does "x" class take?
The time any class takes depends on many variables.  If you have a specific timeframe, let us know.  We are skilled at helping to guide your creative process to stay within your schedule.  The general answer is: anywhere from 5 minutes to 8 hours. Some pieces here took about 8 hours to cut, grind/file as necessary, clean and build on the shelf. Sometimes, the pieces just 'click'. This piece was modeled after a bowl we created in the shop and took about 10 minutes (to decide how the swirls would be positioned).  You are absolutely permitted to 'copy' any piece we have created in the shop, provided we have the materials on hand.  Some glasses may not be available any longer.
